What merging does and doesn't preserve
Merging combines complete pages from each source PDF into one file, in whatever order you set — the actual page content is untouched. What it does not reliably preserve: bookmarks, internal links, and interactive form fields from the source documents, since these reference structures specific to each original file that don't automatically carry over cleanly into a combined document. For simple document combination (reports, scanned pages, multiple exports), this is a non-issue; for a heavily bookmarked or form-heavy PDF, check the merged output before relying on those features.
Order matters, and it's set before you merge
The file list order at the moment you click merge is the final page order — drag to reorder source files first, since there's no page-level reordering after the merge completes (use the separate reorder tool on the finished file if you need to fix it afterward).
Does merging preserve bookmarks and links from the original PDFs?
Not reliably — page content merges cleanly, but bookmarks, internal navigation links, and interactive form fields are tied to each original document's internal structure and often don't carry over intact into a combined file. For simple document combination this rarely matters; check the output if the source PDFs relied heavily on these features.
Can I merge PDFs with different page sizes?
Yes — each page keeps its own original size and orientation in the merged document; pages don't get resized or forced to match each other. The output PDF can have mixed page sizes throughout, same as the sources did.
How do I control the order of pages in the merged file?
Drag the source files into the order you want in the file list before merging — that order becomes the final page order directly. There's no separate page-reordering step during the merge itself; set the order first.
